Crockpot Roast Beef
Not long after I began dating my husband sixteen years ago I was introduced to his family's tradition of Sunday roast beef dinner with all the fixings: (s)mashed potatoes, gravy, veggies (corn, peas, green beans, carrots, etc) and occasionally rolls. It took our family a number of years before we started to emulate this tradition, maybe because we weren't very good at cooking roasts, or maybe because it took work to make the potatoes, but somewhere along the way we have got into the habit of almost always making a roast beef dinner. Here is how I make the roast, it actually is pretty simple, and it is nice walking into the house after church to the smell of a wonderfully tasty roast cooking.
Most of the time our church meetings are fairly early so it's easiest to have something I can leave in the crock-pot to cook while we are gone for our three hour block. Plus I love how tender the meet is after cooking this way.

Snow Icecream
This is something me and the kids have done a few times. I got the idea from a friends blog Raising Memories. I have tried it two different ways and I like the condensed milk version much better. It was thicker, creamier and sweeter. On both occasions though my kids loved it and wanted more. Can't you tell?

Grasshopper Fudge Cake
I love desserts, my family has a few favorites, but when Thanksgiving rolled around I decided to try a recipe I found on Pinterest. I made a number of modifications to it, and it turned out to be a big hit with the whole family. The second time I made it it disappears just as fast. And when my daughter saw me writing this blog post she was asking for it again.

Chocolate Fudge Sauce
For Thanksgiving this year (yes, I know that was along time ago) I tried a new grasshopper fudge cake recipe that I had found on Pinterest. The recipe for the Grasshopper Fudge Cake will be my next post.
The original recipe, which came from the Betty Crocker website, called for a couple of jars of hot fudge sauce which I wasn’t interested in paying 5 bucks each for. Instead, I managed to find a recipe for a thick chocolate fudge sauce from a family cookbook.

This chocolate fudge sauce is excellent on cake, ice cream, or whatever else you want a nice chocolate sauce on.
