Brownies, what a delectable treat. They are especially good with a little ice cream on top, and even better if you take a fork, mash them up, and stir them into your ice cream.

Another wonderful thing about brownies is that they are pretty easy to make -- other than when you leave out the sugar. (I have only done that once and they were pretty bad.)

Nathan and I were recently invited to a party and asked to bring a dessert. I wanted something simple but yummy to take. So I decided to take our brownie recipe and add something a little different. I took some chocolate squares I had laying around, chopped them up, and added the bits to the batter. My little experiment turned out very nicely.

Tinfoil Potatoes

I'm not one for side dishes. Usually when I make a meal it's all inclusive to avoid them, but this one I love. It's something my parents cooked on the BBQ when I was younger.

It's quick and easy to make, just do a little chopping. It also can easily be turned into a whole meal with some meat of your choice. These also make an easy dinner while out camping, you prepare them at home and then once you have a fire going just throw these into the coals until they are nicely cooked.

Chocolate Fudge Pudding

Oh, yummy fudgy cake. This is a great treat on top of ice cream, or all by itself. It has a nice spongy cake, with a runny chocolate sauce. It is best when it is still hot but it is still really good after it has been in the fridge for a couple of days. By that time the cake has absorbed more of the sauce and it is a little more fudgy.

This is another family favorite from my husband's family cookbook. It's slightly different than the original because Nathan and I have tweaked it over the years and we think it's better this way.

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip

There isn't much in life as tasty as a nice, warm, chocolate chip cookie. This is a tried and true recipe that I have used many times, and came from my mother-in-law who made these when my husband was a child. You can also switch the chocolate chips for raisins if you really want, but my husband would think that was a horrible idea.
